Why your base matters more than distance
Algarve drives are short enough to tempt one-base planning, but beach access, parking and evening mood still change dramatically by town.
The best base is not universal. It depends on whether you want cliffs, islands, nightlife, airport ease, surf or quiet family pacing.
For a first seven-day trip, I would usually split Lagos or Carvoeiro with Tavira or Faro. For five days, one strong base is often calmer than chasing the perfect town.
